Turn memberships into capacity — for people, everywhere.
Every membership grows a members’ project fund with one purpose: to help build businesses and founders that fill what communities are missing, in the things people cannot live well without.
URS Technologies LLC, which sells memberships, sets aside 10% of its profit for the fund. Members propose projects and vote on which to support, and our staff make the awards. The fund is not an investment. Members don’t buy into it, own any part of it, or receive returns from it; a membership pays only for access to the platform.
Support for the nine essentials
See the economics — cost to benefit, by the numbers →
The fund supports projects that develop new technologies, processes, and products across nine essentials. When funding and mentorship reach these domains — and into the founders building in them — a community stops importing its survival and starts producing it.
Build people, not just projects
Money alone does not build a community's capacity — people do. So the fund's most important work is making entrepreneurs: finding young people with the drive to build, pairing them with mentors who have done it before, and standing up the businesses that fill what a community is missing.
Where we're headed
The near road is to grow the membership to make the fund real, open the first sets of incubated founders, and make the map dense enough that capability and need meet in harmony. The longer road is a global commons of producers — networks of networks, each governing itself, each building the essentials its community needs. We will grow the fund, communicate what it does, and maintain our core values no matter how large the network becomes.
